Coming Soon Spring 2008: As spring nears and the Inman Park Festival approaches, keep a look out for my new line of silk scarves and more fun POOPADOOP KIDS accessories.
Inspired by my daughter Josie, I created a line of hair accesories for babies and kids called Poopadoop Kids no slip hair clips. Made from felt and focusing on bright color and funky designs these crazy clips match everything and nothing.
Hand Painted Silk Scarf "Lady Bugs" 2007
One of my true passions in textiles art is silk painting. Here are a few images of the scarves in the process of being created.I freehand designs using a resist paste and later come in with bold color hand painting the scarves accenting the designs.
Me in the the studio 2005. Penland School of Craft for a summer work study in 3-d fiber sculptures, focus on organic materials
My summer collection for 2006 featured folk art inspired handbags created from 100% recycled materials. I created these fun and funky bags using vintage fabrics, heirloom buttons, and even reclaimed wood from demodestaircases for the handles.
I am a textile artist and mom living in Georgia. I love creating fun one- of-a kind fabric art from a vast spectrum of different materials. From silk scarves, to handdbags and even cute hair clips, I find joy in working with hand work and using classical techniques of textile art to create new funky designs. After graduating with a BFA in Textiles from Georgia State University in 2003 I continued my career as a freelance textile artist. For the past 5 years I have done the Inman Park Festival and most recently, I was also a part of the Yellow Daisy Festival at Stone Mountian Park.
My most recent venture is in the form of my kids accesories company, Poopadoop.
